Recognizing that the boarding section serves as a second home for our students, the department is dedicated to creating an atmosphere where every learner feels valued, respected, and cared for.

The department is headed by Ms. Emily, who serves as the Boarding Mistress, and is ably assisted by Ms. T. Nyaga and Ms. Irene. Together, they provide dedicated leadership, ensuring the smooth running of the boarding section while promoting the welfare, safety, and holistic development of every boarder. Their commitment, together with the support of teachers on duty, matrons, and student leaders, has greatly contributed to maintaining a positive and supportive boarding environment.

Throughout the term, emphasis has been placed on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, discipline, and personal responsibility. Regular dormitory inspections have been conducted to ensure that all living spaces remain neat, organized, and conducive to healthy living. Students have embraced the culture of cleanliness through scheduled general cleaning exercises, proper waste management, and responsible care of school property. These practices have not only enhanced hygiene but have also instilled a sense of ownership and accountability among learners.

The Boarding Department has also prioritized the health and well-being of students. Through close collaboration with the school clinic, class teachers, and the Guidance and Counselling Department, learners have received prompt support whenever health or personal concerns arise. Students are continually encouraged to maintain high standards of personal hygiene, eat balanced meals, stay hydrated, and report any illness or challenge without delay.

Student leadership has remained an integral part of the boarding programme. Dorm captains have demonstrated exemplary leadership by coordinating dormitory activities, promoting peaceful coexistence, mentoring younger students, and assisting in maintaining discipline. Their dedication has strengthened teamwork and fostered a culture of mutual respect and cooperation within the boarding community.

The department has further enhanced guidance and counselling services by creating opportunities for learners to discuss academic, social, and emotional challenges in a supportive environment. Through mentorship sessions, motivational talks, and regular interactions with teachers on duty, students continue to develop resilience, confidence, and positive decision-making skills.

Safety remains a top priority in the boarding section. Routine checks of dormitory facilities, adherence to safety regulations, and continuous sensitization on emergency preparedness have contributed to a secure living environment. Students are regularly reminded of the importance of following boarding rules and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone.
