Introduction

The core business of any academic institution is to provide academic skills to its clients who in this case are the learners. Kabare Girls' since its inception in 1964 produced academic giants who have made immense contributions in nation building. In order to achieve this, all the stakeholders are driven by the school's motto: In Pursuit of Excellence.

The office of the Dean of Studies plays a key role in ensuring that school academic programs are implemented as per the ministerial and school policies. He works closely with The Principal, The Deputy Principal (Administration), The Deputy Principal (Academics), The Assistant Dean and the Block Coordinators who form the school's Academic Committee.

The duties attached to this office include but not limited to:

  1. Strengthening curriculum implementation and supervision.
  2. Organization of school programs
  3. Programming and implementation of the school's evaluation policies.
  4. Promoting quality teaching and learning in the school.
  5. Analysis of examinations.

 

Subjects Offered

The school offers subjects which are categorized as follows:

  • Group 1: English, Kiswahili,Mathematics
  • Group 2: Chemistry, Biology, Physics
  • Group 3: Geography, History, C.R.E
  • Group 4: Agriculture, Home Science,Computer
  • Group 5: Business Studies, French

 

Academic Facilities

The school boasts of a wide range of modern facilities that enhance curriculum delivery:

  1. Spacious classrooms with white boards.
  2. Well-equipped laboratories.
  3. A Computer Lab.
  4. An ICT room with a smart board in promoting e-learning which makes learning enjoyable

 

Conducive environment

Kabare Girls' is strategically located near Mt. Kenya. Its location provides an atmosphere that is very conducive for learning. The school is also endowed with a variety of tree species and well maintained lawns that provide a very cool and fresh environment for learners.

Evaluation

A student sits for three major exams in a term:

  1. Opener exam.
  2. Mid-term exam.
  3. End of term exam.

There are Regular Continuous Assessment Test (C.A.Ts) and Random Assessment Tests (R.A.Ts)
