Debate Club

The Kabare Girls' Debate Club has established itself as one of the most outstanding and respected clubs in the Mt. Kenya Region, consistently nurturing confident, articulate, and accomplished young debaters. Through debate and public speaking, members develop critical thinking, leadership, research, and communication skills that prepare them for success both in school and beyond. The club has recorded remarkable achievements on the competitive stage. Last year, Kabare Girls participated in the National Debaters Tournament at the Edge Convention Centre, where the team finished among the Top Five schools in the country-a commendable achievement that reflected the members' hard work and determination. This year, the club continued its impressive performance during the debate friendlies held at Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls, where Kabare Team C emerged as the best-performing team. Individual excellence was equally celebrated, with three students ranking among the top speakers, while Stacey Kyalo emerged as the best female speaker, scoring an impressive 75 out of 100. At the Regional Debate Championships, we presented a total of 7 teams, 5 Debate teams and 2 Mjadala teams. Of the 7, 6 qualified for the Nationals with Junior Team B, emerging the best team overall in the region and Junior team A 2nd best in the region. Being the 1st time to present Mjadala, the Junior team emerged position 1 and Senior Mjadala position 2 overall. We also produced quite a number of best speakers as follows: 1.
