Chess Club
The Kabare Girls' Chess Club has continued to excel, proving that success in chess is built on strategy, discipline, and critical thinking. The year began on a high note with the club's Internal Chess Tournament, held on 8th February 2026, where members showcased remarkable talent and sportsmanship. Amy Imani (Grade 10S) emerged as the school's Best Chess Player, marking an impressive start to the competitive season. The club has since participated in several prestigious tournaments, consistently producing outstanding results. At the Individual Qualifiers Chess Championships held at Alliance Girls High School on 18th July, Miriam Chelsea (Grade 10X) distinguished herself by finishing as the 2nd Runner-up in the Girls' Under-15 Category, earning both a trophy and a Naivas shopping voucher.
The club's achievements did not end there. Several members qualified to represent the school at the National Chess Championships during the August holidays, demonstrating the team's dedication and growing competitive strength.
These successes have been made possible through the unwavering guidance of the club's patrons, Mr. Githinji Kanyi and Ms. Faridah, whose mentorship continues to inspire excellence. The club also acknowledges the exemplary leadership of its captain, Miriam Chelsea, whose commitment has motivated members to strive for greater heights.
With every tournament, the Kabare Girls' Chess Club continues to sharpen minds, build confidence, and uphold a culture of excellence.
